Tip of the Week: How You Doin’?

This week the focus is on EQ – Emotional Intelligence – and how you can increase yours.

Overwhelmed? Anxious? One way to tame these feelings is to uncover what’s behind them. That’s emotional fluency, when you’re able to recognize and name what you are feeling.

It’s not just that I’m overwhelmed, I’m feeling __________________.

Filling in the blank helps you put your finger on what’s really going on. You can use a tool like the Emotion Wheel to assist in this process. Above is one example of many; you can Google “Emotion Wheel” or “Feelings Wheel” to find pdfs.
