You’re Invited: Open Conversation with Diversity Leaders

Looking for a respectful, open space to talk with your peers about diversity and inclusivity in animal welfare? Us, too. That’s why we added a new session to the Spring Conference for Animal Welfare.

Facilitated by HSUS’ Amanda Arrington and PetSmart Charities’ Johnny L. Jenkins Jr., the panelists Ed Jamison, Director of Dallas Animal Services; Jose Sandoval, Commissioner for the Department of Los Angeles Animal Services, and Gabrielle Chapman, HSUS’ Senior Social Justice Analyst, will explore what the future holds in the general session, “Commitment to Action: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Animal Welfare,” to be held Tuesday, June 16, at noon ET.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday and getting this conversation started. If you haven’t yet registered for the conference, please do it today—registration closes at 10 am tomorrow, Friday, June 12. This is big, and lives depend on it—human and animal. See you there!

Please note: This General Session is in place of “Communicating To A Divided America” by Peter Panepento of Turn Two Communications, which will be held as a free live webinar to continue the conversation on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Register now for the webinar on Wednesday, July 1, 3-4 pm ET.

The Association is the only international society of leaders actively leading and managing community animal shelters/animal control agencies.
