On June 1, #SpayTogether was launched to help shelters and veterinary clinics catch up after COVID-19 forced the temporary suspension of spay/neuter surgeries. The goal of this historic collaboration? 50,000 spay/neuter surgeries in 3 months. As a proud supporter of #SpayTogether, The Association is thrilled to share the following good news. (Short version: We’re on track to smash that goal!)
#SpayTogether announces the beginning of grant notifications and fund disbursement!
In response to COVID-19’s impact on the animal welfare community, the #SpayTogether Coalition is granting over 2.3 million dollars to more than 200 animal shelters, veterinary clinics, rescue organizations, and other animal protection groups in all 50 states.
These funds will enable grantees to spay/neuter more than 54,000 dogs and cats in a 3-month period – allowing animal shelters and veterinary clinics to catch up on their backlog of spay/neuter services. The #SpayTogether coaltion is also donating 50,000 microchips and over 23,000 vaccines.
Let the lifesaving begin!
