COVID-19 forced animal shelters and veterinary clinics in all 50 states to temporarily suspend spay/neuter surgeries. This was the right thing to do in order to help halt the spread of the virus. Now, as states begin to reopen, we need to catch up. Thanks to an incredible collaborative project launching today, funds and resources are now available. Let the lifesaving begin!
The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement is a proud supporter of #SpayTogether, a historic collaboration between 25 national animal protection and welfare agencies. We have joined together to provide funding and resources to help shelters and vet clinics with the goal of 50,000 spay/neuter surgeries in 3 months.
The #SpayTogether stimulus fund will provide:
- Surgery subsidy support grants
- On-ground assistance training in high-quality, high-volume S/N
- Discounted veterinary supplies and services
While #SpayTogether resources are available to eligible agencies in all states, the coalition has identified eight key states with substantial need: Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, California, Texas, Nevada, Florida and Oklahoma
