It is during times like these that I am most honored to be a part of the animal welfare movement. As President and CEO of The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, I am proud of the work our network is doing to address the ever-changing reality of this pandemic while simultaneously elevating the profession. We are one.
It brings me great pleasure to announce that registration for The 2020 Spring Conference for Animal Welfare Advancement is officially open! Our team has worked hard on this “Plan B” solution, and the Conference Committee has put together a stellar program that is sure to make us all better professionals and leaders. Even if you have never attended this event, now you can without having to book flights or hotel rooms.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic impacted us, this year’s conference was designed to help attendees closely examine ways to build resilience, both for themselves and the organizations they represent. Today those messages are so much more timely and relevant, and you can learn how to take even better care of yourself and the people and animals in your community.
Our virtual conference on June 16-17 will deliver all the content we had planned to include when we were scheduled to meet in person, plus two important sessions: The COVID-19 Response: Using Science to Separate Fact from Fiction and Communicating Collectively for Greater Impact During COVID-19. In addition, you will have varied opportunities to engage with each other and our industry partners. We will even have a virtual exhibit hall where you can interact with providers of various goods and services. Find out more and register here.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, our staff and our dedicated Conference Committee, we look forward to welcoming you from wherever you may be…home office, backyard or animal shelter. We are better together!
