In the wake of Hurricane Ida, eight leading Louisiana animal shelters are actively working together on animal response. On behalf of that group, Louisiana SPCA requests your help in the following areas:
Experienced animal care and shelter operations personnel for post-storm response
Email Todd Cramer, Lead Incident Coordinator, and be sure to include:
- how many personnel can deploy
- when they can deploy
- if they have special skills/experience, such as animal handling/husbandry, behavior, management, volunteer management, etc.
ACO vehicles and officers
12 marked animal control vehicles (not vans), each with 2 trained officers who are self-contained, are needed on standby. They will assist with assessments and feeding, and should be prepared for a two-week rotation.
If you are able to meet this need, please email Todd Cramer, Lead Incident Coordinator
If you are interested in other volunteer opportunities or can provide supplies, email idalaspca@gmail.com.
