Now for the sixth year, NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations are partnering with Greater Good.org and shelters across the country for Clear the Shelters. Presented by Hill’s, the month-long event is a little different this year—adoptions have gone virtual, and folks are encouraged to get involved by donating, fostering and volunteering. So far, 1,200 organizations have participated, with more expected in this last week of the campaign. We know many of our members’ orgs are part of this summer tradition—please leave us a comment and let us know how it’s going! And P.S., if you would like to join this year’s Clear the Shelters campaign, there’s still time. Get more information and register here.
Some of our favorite highlights:

August=time for Clear the Shelters participants to go all out on their social media posts featuring available animals. We love how Fort Worth Animal Care & Control highlights this cutie’s quirks–and documents them!

Is it the Dennis Quaid effect? NBC Bay Area news anchors Marcus Washington and Janelle Wang are promoting their namesake kittens, currently available at Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation.

Congrats to Roanoke, VA-based Angels of Assisi on 37 adoptions this past week, including this curious feline. (Aww alert: look closely at the carrier.)
