Applications for the Diane & Bob Hoover Annual Innovation Award Close This Friday, 9/3
If your organization has demonstrated innovation in the face of disaster and crisis, there’s still time to apply for Pethealth Inc.’s Diane & Bob Hoover Annual Innovation Award.
This year’s award celebrates technological innovations integrated before July 1, 2020. That means Pethealth is looking for championing organizations who have strived to save more animals’ lives—or provided enhanced care for them—in these recent times of crisis and amidst natural disasters.

2019 Winner: Staci Cannon, DVM, & Metro Area Animal Care & Control
Thanks to a simple but mighty feature of their shelter software, Dr. Cannon and her team at Metro Animal increased their RTO by 11 percentage points. Using Chameleon and the Postmaster automated email technology, daily intake reports are cross-checked in the org’s lost & found Facebook groups. Learn more about the program here.
2020 Winner: Adan Parra, Michele Anderson & the IT team at El Paso Animal Services
This winning crew created a map of lost and found pets using GIS software. If someone loses or finds a pet, they can go to the map and zoom into that location of the neighborhood and see the lost and found pets in that area. Listen to a podcast with the winners.
